Old Deuteronomy
Lee was born in England where he started his career as a band singer. After arriving in Australia to live, he made his local debut in several seasons of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, where his flair for comedy was soon revealed, and which further developed his magnificent tenor voice. Lee also worked for many years as principal tenor with The Australian Opera Company and also The Joan Sutherland Opera Company. In conjunction with and following these seasons, Lee has pursued a successful cabaret career and has accepted small and feature roles in TV drama series. His-theatre credits include Student Prince, Showboat, Desert Song, The Black and White Minstrel Show and Me and My Girl. Lee was a member of the Sydney and Melbourne cast of Cats.
